Founded in 2018, Antelopus Energy Private Limited was established by a seasoned leadership team with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector. Backed by private equity, the Company rapidly built a strong foundation by acquiring oil and gas assets across key sedimentary basins in India.
As part of its strategic expansion, Antelopus acquired a controlling stake in Selan Exploration Technology Limited, a publicly listed company with a legacy dating back to 1985. Through focused operational improvements and efficient asset management, production from Selan’s fields increased significantly within a short span. The corporate structure was subsequently streamlined through the merger of Antelopus and Selan.
The Company further strengthened its portfolio through targeted acquisitions, enhancing scale, diversifying basin exposure, and reinforcing operational capabilities. Today, Antelopus Selan Energy Limited operates a diversified portfolio of nine oil and gas contract areas across multiple sedimentary basins, including Cambay (Gujarat), Mumbai Offshore, Mahanadi Offshore, Assam, and the Krishna-Godavari Basin.
